Opis filmu

Tworzy wstrząsający i jednocześnie rygorystycznie rzetelny dokument śledczy.

In April 2010, the world saw a 2007 video of an Apache helicopter strafing civilians, including Reuters reporters, on the streets of Baghdad. This infamous video, titled Collateral Murder by Wikileaks, is one of the first documents stolen by Private Bradley Manning. In her thrilling but rigorously honest investigative documentary film, director Shuchen Tan reveals the names, biographies and families of people recorded on that video, investigates how they came to be at that fateful spot, where they were heading. This bold deconstruction of the crime is certainly one of the toughest anti-war films in recent years. Ethan McCord, one of the soldiers arriving at the scene to help victims, assists the director in a careful analysis of the military’s actions. This event forever changed his life, and the film offers him a forum to ask forgiveness from the victims’ and survivors’ families – for they also appear in the film. They seek to understand and explain what happened that day, but also to honor the memory of their loved ones.
